It is common for women to notice some asymmetries between their breasts, and a classic saying in plastic surgery is to focus on the breasts “as sisters and not twins”. That being said, there are some asymmetries that are more noticeable than others, and that can affect your aesthetic and functional goals for your breasts. Breast asymmetry surgery focuses on what these noticeable asymmetries are and provides you with more balanced results. This may involve the use of several surgical techniques, including when indicated the use of breast implants to help achieve your goals for your breasts. Whether it is making one breast larger or smaller, addressing differences in shape or contour, or nipple position and size, Dr. Seal would be happy to discuss your concerns and identify how to best help you achieve your ideal breast appearance.

Breast Symmetry Surgery Considerations
In order to improve the balance and symmetry of your breasts, several surgical techniques may need to be used to successfully achieve your goals. This may include breast augmentation, reduction, lifting, and/or nipple position and size adjustment, and more detailed information on each one of these procedures can be found on their respective page:
Recovering from your surgery
What to expect from your recovery will be based on the type of breast procedure performed and other factors. There will be some swelling and bruising around the breasts that will last for several weeks or so. A special surgical bra may need to be worn during the recovery to provide support throughout the process. Pain and discomfort can be managed with medication.
To ensure you are healing properly and that no complications have occurred, follow-up visits will be scheduled with Dr. Seal or Dr. Ho. during these visits it is important that you discuss any issues or concerns you may have so that our team can properly address them. Our team will also provide you with post-operative instructions to guide you through the process so that it is as smooth as possible.
